Thank you so much for your note — I would love to come to Lisbon. I visited with my family years ago and absolutely loved it. At the moment I’m just finishing a year in London and loving being back in my New York apartment, so I don’t have immediate plans for traveling. But I’ll definitely keep it in mind!

I've always wondered whether, as an author developing characters, you have ever thought, "Wow, I love this quality in her/him. I wouldn't mind being more like this character myself." Or are there some moments where you might enjoy a quality you already have and think, "This character needs to be independent, adventuresome, etc. like me!" ???
