Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Frances Susanne Brown
I was in my second semester of the MFA program at Lesley University, sitting with two cohorts in the student lounge. We were discussing the subjects for our theses. I hadn't yet decided on mine. When I read to them a short piece I wrote about my "imaginary" grandfather, the man my mother claimed had died when she was just a baby, they were fascinated. "That story, that mystery," they both said in unison, "is what you should write about."
