Kristen asked Rick Riordan:

Hi, Rick Riordan! I absolutely love your writing, especially your Percy Jackson series. I've noticed that the point of view you use varies throughout different series, and I was wondering: How and why do you decide which POV to use when beginning a series? (First person is my personal favorite.)

Rick Riordan It's funny because when I wrote PJO, a lot of people said, "Oh, nobody uses first person with kids' books. That'll never work!" I like both POV styles. I had to use third person in HoO because there were seven main characters and I wanted you to get to know all of them.
