I read the book, "Black Mass" while vacationing in New Hampshire several years ago, and I was shocked at how familiar I was with the situations I was reading about! My friends and family were always riveted by the stories I would tell them about my experiences while living and working in Southie. They kept insisting, "These things don't happen to ordinary people! You need to write a book!" After reading "Black Mass" that suggestion became a reality. I realized that people would be interested in hearing what it was like coexisting in such a violent and volatile environment while doing my best not to become directly involved in the criminal activity. It was a slippery road, and I have to admit, I was no angel.
