Goodreads asked Kim Drew Wright:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Kim Drew Wright Cheetos and Crown & Coke. Oh, wait...When an idea takes on life of its own and you are almost not even there, while at the same time right in the thick of it and sweaty and insanely happy that the words are flowing. Then you edit and tweak. Again and again. And again. Then you read it back and find a couple spots that have meaning on multiple levels that you added with intention, then find a couple more spots with meaning you didn't even realize were in there - it just happened organically. Well, that's all good...but then you hitch up your pants, cinch your belt, show you're brave by handing it to a reader - and another human being laughs, or cries, or is reminded of a time in their life that had special meaning to THEM...well that is gold.
