Goodreads asked Abigail Ford:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Abigail Ford I read. I look at all my outlines and notes I have for the current story. If none of that works then I ask God "should I be trying to write this?" (Of course I'm praying about it beforehand and throughout, He gives me the ideas after all, but if it just isn't flowing there is a good chance that's God's way of saying "stop. listen.") Believe it or not I have actually dropped entire books (some of them I had even almost finished!) because God desired for me to start another book. I believe with my most recent "dropped" book, part of the Willow Tree Series, God desires to go back to it, however it just wasn't the right timing for it right then. He desired for me to start on Brood of Vipers, which I have already finished. I am not sure if the next book will be this dropped book or not, but I feel there is a good book there, and it will not be wasted, I feel God is saying.
