Goodreads asked Hunter Crainshaw:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Hunter Crainshaw The idea for Come Home Free began with my great Aunt Aria. Many years before I was born she disappeared from her home with her husband. These were pre-internet days, so no one in her family was able to find her. Years later some of my aunt's children contacted my grandmother, and I learned some of Aunt Aria's story. The details of what I learned had a tremendous impact on my life and became a primary element in Come Home Free. My writing partner, Sheila, contributed the other primary element of the story through her development of the character of Clara in the book and Clara's nuclear family. The story focuses on several women characters who are searching for home.
