Goodreads asked Elisabeth Kidd:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Elisabeth Kidd For historical fiction, it's doing the research and planning the story. The first can be a trap, because it's too easy to get caught up in researching the most minute details and so never getting to writing anything (!) but I've learned to filter advice and reading through the characters I'm creating to decide what they might be doing that's related to the research.
