I always have several writing projects going; so I'm never really blocked. I always have an idea (knock wood). My problem is procrastination. One helpful way I've found to deal with the insidious "P" problem is this: I use an egg timer to force myself to write in (usually) fifteen minute increments. The bargain with myself is that I can't move from the keyboard for that time. I usually end up writing for most of those fifteen minutes and then I give myself another fifteen minutes, etc. Those little increments really add up and before you know it, you've finished a book. My egg timer is in the shape of a lemon. An Italian method is to use an egg timer in the shape of a tomato. I believe this is called The Pomodoro Technique. Since my timer is a lemon, I call it The Limoncello Method.
