Goodreads asked Karen Allendoerfer:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Karen Allendoerfer If you define writer's block as staring at a blank page, not knowing what to write, I haven't had writer's block in a long time. I have more the problem of trying to winnow things down, quiet the voices of characters and topics in my head, and focus. For that, I find that going for a walk or taking a nap are best, if I can find the time. Or I just write stream-of-consciousness, like Morning Pages from _The Artist's Way_, until something takes shape.
