Goodreads asked Glenn Turner:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Glenn Turner There are lots of great things about writing, but one of the best has to be the fact that you can do it just about anywhere with the bare minimum of tools... Much of The Toronto Carrying Place was written in the stands of the J. Alphonse Dulude arena during my sons' ice hockey practices; and I confess that I've done a lot of first drafts in a battered notebook at the Royal Oak over a pint or two...

I'm not sure that I could work like that if I were a brain surgeon!
