Writer's block is tricky, especially if you're working on a deadline (self-imposed or editor-imposed). Sometimes I'll skip ahead in the story, basically bypassing the section that's tripping me up. But I've found the best way to break out of the writer's block rut is to step away from the project that's giving me trouble. I might work on something else, or I'll focus on something not related to writing at all. Sometimes just taking a day to recharge and relax is enough to get the juices flowing again.
