Ann Aldrich
Ann Aldrich asked Diana Gabaldon:

First, thank you, for what I believe are divinely-inspired books (I don't say that flippantly). This is probably a silly question - just my own curiousity - when typing "special" less automatically spelled words like names, I generally pronounce them out phonetically as I type. When you are typing Laoghaire, do you sound it out or do you have a "macro" or shortcut? As I said, just curious.

Diana Gabaldon I just type it. You know, one letter at a time... (Though if I understand what you're asking--you can't sound that name out phonetically, because it's a Gaelic name; the pronunciation of Gaelic names isn't at all like English.)
