Do you have any marketing tips for relatively new authors?
Goodness, Rapheal. I just realized I never answered this question. . . in terms of marketing advice, I'd say first and foremost, write good books. No amount of marketing prowess can make up for a mediocre book.
Then, be genuine and transparent with your marketing. Don't try to pretend you aren't selling your book.
In terms of specific advice, check out Tim Grahl's book Your First 1,000 Copies. My friend Ed Cyzewski, whose book Write Without Crushing Your Soul is also stellar, sent me to Grahl's book, and it was really helpful.
