Goodreads asked Jessie Franklin:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Jessie Franklin I love those great moments when I'm writing a story and realize the characters have become very real in my mind and have started taking over the process. It's a strange phenomenon to describe, but you know it's happening when someone in the book says or does something that you would never do or something that makes you uncomfortable or angry and you think to yourself "where the heck did that come from?"
