How emotionally involved do you become with your characters?
John Darryl Winston
Oh my goodness, I become so emotionally involved with my characters that I dream about them, constantly. I get depressed when things don't work out for them, and I get chills and jump for joy when they succeed. It took me three days to finish a tragic scene in my second novel simply because I kept getting choked up and breaking down into tears. And I know this is really weird, but sometimes I forget that my characters are fictional and have to be reminded of that fact at times. Thank you so much for asking Joan.
