Years ago when I first started writing, I made the mistake in showing my work to the wrong person (a family member). I allowed this person to destroy my passion and love. No matter how hard I tried to finish my book, the words wouldn't come. I was empty and it crushed me. That was a costly lesson. One I will never forget. Now I am determined to avoid those triggers that will hinder me. I stay with a positive outlook on life. As every new author in the beginning, it is not unusual to come across a negative review or comment. It's best to keep away from anything that is going to bring you down or cause you to doubt your ability. Although, I love hearing feed back, even the not so good feed back. It helps me grow and improve. Most authors starting out make errors. We're human. At times I have to remind myself why I write. I write because it's who I am. It is part of my spirit. I write because I love it. My advice to anyone who writes, don't do it for the glory or fame. Do it for the love and for yourself.
