Goodreads asked Edgar Bennington:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Edgar Bennington Actually the book has 2 Co-Authors. John & I came together for two reasons, we were good friends and we wanted to write a book. We came up with an agreement on a way to interrupt one another as we put a story together. Call it a lightning round of brainstorming. We first began the meanderings for the idea of a story we thought would be interesting. Believe it or not the very first idea, was an alien race would wage war and bring mankind down to it's knees by dragging an asteroid behind it's mothership only to hurdle it towards earth. John & I, ran through several lightning rounds of thought. The keyword to politely interrupt the other's idea was the word "flash". In the course of three days we ended up with the novel "Resplendent Emulation". As you can see, the ideas and thoughts went through many twists turns and branches much like the proverbial lightning bolt. It seemed the story in the novel was destined to happen. As if an unseen force directed us along our deliberations for a good story. I hope this answered your question.
