Don't give up. Write A LOT. Don't expect money to fall into your lap... VERY FEW writers are the "lucky ones" who make tons of money right away. Very few writers make a ton of money - period. You need to look at this like a business. You need to be involved in all aspects of it - writing, editing, cover, marketing, etc.
