Goodreads asked Rosanne Hawke:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Rosanne Hawke I don't believe in writers block. When I get 'stuck' it's a normal part of my process where I need to do more work on my character in my creative journal, or do more research to feed my plot ideas. If I have done a certain amount of outlining and getting to know my characters I will have a fair idea of where they need to be by the end. I also try not to confuse important life events with writer's block, e.g. when my mother died I didn't feel like writing, but I knew that wasn't writers block -- it was grief. Every writer's process is different but this is how I manage what many call writer's block. If I believed in such a thing I might use it as an excuse not to write.
