Goodreads asked Jeremy Vaeni:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Jeremy Vaeni Here is the paradoxical balance you must keep:

1.) Write for yourself, not an audience, and the audience will find you. (Translation: stay true to yourself. Don't try too hard to please others or that will come through in the writing.)

2.) Remember that you're writing for an audience. Just because you think you're a genius doesn't mean everyone else will. Get out of your head and be willing to give up your work to the reader. (Translation: you can only do #1 if you know you don't suck. Unfortunately, you don't get to be the judge of that.)
