How do you get inspired to write?

Val Silver I love writing about topics that I'm passionate about so for the most part that's not too much of a challenge. When I was writing Rescue Me, and the challenges of writing a book got me discouraged, I would remind myself of my mission to help homeless dogs. I would look at my little Teddy and think of all he went through before we adopted him, and that was usually enough to keep me forging ahead in the hopes that through the book, other dogs might have a better life, too.
