A Goodreads user asked:

What is the appeal of a book about someone who is a hired killer? and how do you sympathize with her? (No hate just mulling over sort of physiological questions!)

R.E. Sharf She isn't necessarily a hired killer, she's killing to survive. She did kill for money only in her past but she had little choice. She's been through a lot and, believe it or not, sympathizing with her isn't difficult. Also, I won't spoil in case you decide to read the books, but she's so so so much more than an assassin.
