Have you actually read the book? Disgrace can be accused of many things- heartless honesty, beautiful prose and internationally recognized greatness, in this case a good sign, but whatever one claims, it's far from boring.

That was my original thought during the first 1/3 of the book or so. You must not have finished it. The last 2/3s was a very compelling story. I'm sorry you either didn't stick with it, or get it.
