Goodreads asked James Allen Mitchell:

How do you get inspired to write?

James Allen Mitchell Live life to the fullest. I'm not creative enough to create a novel out of thin air. All of my work begins with a real life experience from which I extrapolate and exaggerate and that's why it's called fiction. Having said that, the main premise and theme of every book I've written so far comes to life because I lived it first. Fortunately, I've been blessed with a most extraordinary existence. Some experiences I sought out zealously; some fell into my lap like a gift from heaven.
