The ending is the bit where Becca is arrested by Conway and Stephen.
The section where they are at school after the ending is a continuation of the 'flashback' bit from the point of view of the girls, so doesn't actually take place after the arrest. It is just to show you that it was Holly who made the postcard in order to help Selena by hopefully fushing the killer out. It takes place when they return to school the summer after the murder, just before Holly makes the postcard and takes it to Stephen. So it's just a resolution of 'who wrote the postcard' so you're not left wondering.
