I was wondering how explicit the Elvis Costello connection is in this series? Declan MacManus is EC's given name. Bone Orchard and Gin Palace are memorable phrases from EC's song lyrics; while Poisoned Rose is an EC song title. Is there a connection? An imagining of EC as a Detective? Is he "Watching the Detectives" perhaps?
