Ralph P asked:
Do the authors sugarcoat facts or condemn? We hope that we have crafted a truly unbiased account of the extraordinary rise of the "Saints" from a rather ragtag mob to the establishment of a wealthy, yet puzzling society, a tale that turns from love to death, from tragedy to triumph as art imitates life. Is it not a tour de force?
RALPH P I say only that to some the novel has been an inspiration and for others, entertaining and to all a model of craftsmanship. In a world that still knows very little about Mormonism and the history of the US West it is most enlightening. The research was energetic. The novel fills a need on several levels. Certainly it entertains and educates.
