I'm pretty sure that was Jennifer Crusie - on the back of my book it gives blurbs of each character, and then praise about one author at a time, and that's the order mine was in.

I've been listening to a lot of podcasts by Story Wonk and I think Daisy sounds a lot like Lani Diane Rich. I agree with Michelle that Shar sounds a lot like one of Jennifer Crusie's characters. I love Jennifer Crusie, I've read a lot of her books and I think they're all wonderful. My favorite is Wild Ride.
