I'd say (well, people tell me) that The Last Prince is more like The Prisoner of Zenda than anything -- I don't know the Locke Lamora books, but by the look of them, you might enjoy this. It's definitely more contemporary satire than full on fantasy, though. I hope you do give it a try!
