John de Fairfax Look carefully at how the story began and ended. Based on many factors, I think the missing baby was actually Leofwin.

Ndf You have to read the sequel, the Butcher Bird, to find out. This was a deliberate hook into the next book in the series.

Anne Slater No answer-- where does the missing baby first appear? I didn't register missing baby at the beginning OR end

Patty I was hoping to find out the same thing. Did I miss something? Where is the baby? Or do we have to wait for a sequel to find out??
