For the British agents why was the captain the leader? The majors out ranked the captain but they were lead by a lesser rank. I can't believe an error this large could be missed--any insight?

Mike Hedley As they were intelligence operatives, they may have carried their former military rank as a title, but the hierarchy in the intelligence branch put the captain in charge.
