Goodreads asked Dianne Kozdrey Bunnell:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Dianne Kozdrey Bunnell I am constantly amazed by the creative process. Here's an example: for a piece of flash fiction I was writing (100 words), I was stuck about how the father, on the ground, could stop a deadly fight between his sons on top of the roof. I got up from my chair and went out to pick some apples from the tree in my backyard to feed the horses later while I was on my walk - and voila! - my subconscious had been directing me all the time to see that the way the father could stop them was to be on a ladder picking apples and throw one with all his might at one of his sons on the roof, who stumbled and lost the knife he was holding.
