I read both books within a few weeks of each other! They are very similar in terms of concept, pacing, and the main characters from both series are in love with a boy who is part of a group that hunts down their species. I often felt like I was reading the same book twice, though if I had to choose between which one I liked better, it would be Firelight.

They do have very similar set-ups, but I liked the Talon series much more. While it still had its problems, I thought it was much more coherent than this one.
