Doug And yet we continue to wait for the next book. I wonder if we'll hit 10 years for the next one. We're coming up on 8 years soon.
Serena I don't see them as comparable at all, except as both being male fantasy writers, and there is no telling how much help Sanderson has with WOT or other works (ghost writers). Sanderson, if you haven't noticed is developing the same habit of writing a lot of series all at once and not finishing them before moving onto another. He is being rather obvious in his attempts at further fame in a movie/tv deal. Sanderson started writing in 2005, now at the age of 39. Martin has been writing since 1970 at age 21 now 66. Sanderson is likely very aware that unless he gets lucky with those film rights his popularity (and money) is stuck within publishing. So, maybe Martin should give Sanderson pointers on how to get onto TV.
