The last Bachelor Fireman book was, It's a Wonderful Fireman, what made you decide to end the series with that story instead of another one? Did the characters lead you to it or did you always have it planned that way?

Jennifer Bernard Well, I'm not that great of an advance planner, so I'd say the characters led me to it. I loved the idea of a Christmas novella, and I wanted to end the series with a big fire emergency that pulls them all together. That was about all I had planned, until I started writing. And actually, the novella I first started writing was very different. The idea of Mulligan being trapped in a Christmas store came halfway through and made me rewrite the whole thing! You just never know when it comes to writing.
