The second book ends such that there isn't a need for a 3rd book.

I don't have the link to hand right now but I definitely recall reading sometime last year on Catherine Fisher's website that she was thinking of a third book. I seem to remember she mentioned it in response to a reader question particularly about Attia and Keiro.

My sense is that there will not be a need for a third book-- it doesn't end with a definite conclusion that leaves no room for expansion, but it does resolve all of the major conflicts.
