Does this read like a standalone or the first book of a series? I heard Stacey Jay always intended to write a sequel, but the publisher didn't contract her for more books. I have a feeling the sequel will never happen. If this ends with a cliffhanger or feeling unresolved, I'm not sure i want to read it if there is little hope for a sequel to wrap things up.

I felt that the conclusion was satisfying, but I could also see room for continued development of the characters's stories. No major cliffhangers!
