Did anyone else think The Ghost Files are a rip-off of the Mortal Instruments series (a combo of Clockwork Angel and the modern series)?

Similarities:
The main character - Mattie was very similar to the heroine in Clockwork Princess:
1. Special powers that cannot be explained
2. Has two guys destined be with her
3. Was created for a special purpose with some demon interference
4. The looks are even similar
5. Similar mystery surrounding family and connections
The Plot is also very similar:
1. Demon slaying part-Angel part-Human knights/warriors
2. Angel comes down to speak to them (so naff)
3. Sacrifices
