Goodreads asked Angela Kendrick:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Angela Kendrick One of the main characters in the urban fantasy novel I'm collaboratively writing came to me in a dream. I knew what she was and what her name was, but I didn't know her sex or anything else about her. When I woke up with her in my head, I made a choice to make her female and started writing. The partial scene I wrote picks up in the middle of a conversation with the first person character. I had no idea what I was going to write, but it turned out well. It should make a great story if I can get the pieces together. Quirky doesn't begin to describe things so far, but that has been in part to balance some rather dark themes.
I love to write by the seat of my pants (a pant-ster as opposed to a planner), but I don't trust myself to write a long piece without some kind of plan.
This piece has my attention currently. I'm not working on my first novel attempt due to personal matters, and Tokyo Yakuza seems to have died as the publisher sadly has not talked to us in about a year. So into the drawer those drafts go. It was a blast while it lasted.
