The Polka Dot I know right, it freaked me out so much. Especially what it was that took Em over the edge, was it that bathroom abuse, or that she felt like chris was her brother? She was just so sad. Also, how did chris not suspect that after she killed herself he would be a prime suspect?
This answer contains spoilers… (view spoiler)[Exactly! From the beginning it was a page turner and i got into it immediately. as the book progresses, for me it is hard to see what makes Em spiral so fast into depression and wanting to kill herself. the baby? The abuse happened many years ago so i can't say it was solely that. as for Chris and Em, asking him to shoot her, did they not think about the afterwards? I think Em was very selfish, both in her decision to die and having Chris do it for her, she only thought about ending her pain and not what it would do to him (hide spoiler)]
