There are a lot of them but essentially all the passengers of this particular flight the book tells and the crew.

Hi Susan, the BEST character is the Pan Am clipper, a B-134 that flies and can land in water. The author tells us that only twelve were ever made, none in existence today. The author provides a deck plan, and a flying chart, and makes great use of this B-134. But the rest of the characters, the people, pale in comparison.
