The book was very cute but I don't understand why Flavia had to go to Canada. I know her mother went to the boarding school but the school was too far from home and why didn't the family write to her to support her when she was far away?. Actually, the whole thing made no sense but I still love the character and the writing. I'm glad she will be back in England.

I agree. It seems that it was her Aunt's doing. She sees Flavia as someone who has Harriet's potential and since Harriet went to this school, then Flavia should continue what Harriet was doing with this secret society. I am confused myself as to what the secret society was about.
