Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Al Campo The story and events within the book are largely based on my own experiences. After completion of my active duty with the US Navy, I looked back on those experiences as well as the circumstances which led to my involvement with the Navy and the Vietnam War. I felt a back story of a disillusioned young man who, in order to escape a well of depravity and nihilism in which he was immersed, takes advantage of a life-line offered by the US Navy where the crucible of war helps him come of age had the makings of a good story line. In addition, I believed by combining those elements with combat missions and port calls in exotic locations of the actual ship I served on offered a truly unique perspective that had not yet been written about.
