Goodreads asked Joshua P. Strychalski:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Joshua P. Strychalski Write. Don't worry if it will be good, because it won't be. That's why we revise. But if you're carrying around a story, you owe it to yourself to share it with us.
Don't worry about whether or not people will like your stories - some people will and some people won't. Write for yourself and for the joy of writing. You'd be surprised how contagious that kind of an attitude can be. This seems pretty obvious, but every story I write is a story I like. It's one that I would want to read if I didn't write it. I'm always surprised that people enjoy my stories.
