Anyone know another author whose writing is even remotely so realistic as that of Tolstoy? Otherwise I'm gonna have to read AK and W&P again.

Alex Middlemarch is your huckleberry. George Eliot's realistic masterpiece from right around the same time is basically the only book in the world that can match Tolstoy.
