These, I believe, are thoughts that Juliette is having that she won't admit to herself. You will notice as you progress througout the series that she uses the strike-throughs less and less, and eventually in Ignite Me she does not use them at all. This is because Juliette is much more confident in herself, what she wants, and what she is capable of. It is indicative of character growth.
