Goodreads asked Natalie d'Arbeloff:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Natalie d'Arbeloff The so-called writer's block is not limited to writers. It afflicts all creative people throughout our creative lives and I don't think there's a cure for it, apart from just getting on with the next thing. In my view the block is a combination of fear and lethargy - fear that we're not up to the tasks we set ourselves, and lethargy because it's so much easier to sink into passivity and spectatorism - a word I just made up which means becoming only a consumer of others' creativity and allowing our own to dry up.
