I don't think so. The pilot episode of Finding Carter was ordered around the same time Where the Stars Still Shine was published. I just think it is one of those topics we always want to explore in books, movies, and TV shows. We are fascinated by how women like Elizabeth Smart and Jaycee Dugard survived kidnappings and readjust to normal life after that experience. Where the Stars Still Shine is the perfect way to tell those kinds of stories to a young adult audience.
