Have you thought about giving up on publishing altogether?

Sipho Moloi Yes because I haven't made enough money so that I could not worry about getting a job. What is tragic about self publishing, or any type of online business like a YouTube channel, is that you can put dozens of hours into a book and not get any money out of it. With a regular job, you'd get paid by the hour and working dozens of hours would bring decent income.

With Armored Piercing 3/4, I thought about giving up on those books entirely partly because the first two books are not massively successful. They brought in the most money so far compared to other books, but not enough to have a decent living. AP3 has already been a lot of work so far and the work will only pile up more when I start the second draft. But I worry about all that effort being fruitless if it doesn't bring in a lot of sales. I'm still committed to publishing until I complete the series, but if the next 3 books all fail, I'm very likely to give up.
